Halloween 2008

Merrick is a pirate! He came trick or treating to Mimi's work on Halloween. He wouldn't wear his costume until the day of Halloween. He had a great time. He wanted to take Thumper home from the Seven Dwarfs; he got to pose with the Pirates in the Hearing Department, and hung out with the animals in the Country Store's animal pen. He got the hang of getting candy and putting it in his little pumpkin. He is spending Halloween night with his other grandparents.

Spontaneous Vegas Trip

I was out with my friends in Provo on Friday night at 10pm and realized I hadn't been spontaneous in a while. Brittany was in Vegas with her family, so I texted and told her I was coming. After a half hour of convincing her and myself that I was serious, Chad and I started the 6 hour drive at 11pm. We watched the Movie Crash (go figure right?) on the way and stayed awake pretty much fine until 4pm when Chad was driving and started seeing trees and animals that weren't there! We ended up arriving safely to Summerlin, Nevada at 5am. Chad fell asleep face down with his clothes on before we could even say goodnight.

Saturday, when I woke up, Brit's Mom and Dad were headed out to one of her mom's photo shoots for the day, so meeting the parents was prolonged. We decided to hit Vegas where we met up with some of Chad's friends as well as mine and Brit's friends at CPK in the The Town Square mall. We stopped in to some of Brit's favorite stores and then enjoyed the festivities of some random carnival for a while.

Brit's Mom and dad had returned from their long day of photography when we got back around 8pm and we feasted on turkey stuffing sandwiches while I met the parents. Brit's dad is very, very talkative, friendly and easy going, although he could be threatening if he wanted to! He used to fly F-15's and was a weapons instructor in the Airforce, until he started flying for Southwest. He has a legit top gun helmet, and we watched home videos of him flying straight up to 15,000 feet from take off and then descending to fly through the valleys and mountains just like the movie. Brit's mom is hilarious. We watched a home music video that Brit made when she was 14, and laughed so hard that we couldn't watch it again because it hurt. Afterwards her mom had me convinced they had stopped by the music store on the way home and that Brittany was going to sing a solo in church on Sunday...until I remembered she was messing with me about the music video. Brit has two younger sisters, Brooke and Bri. Brooke is 16 and Bri is 13. They have the Baxter spunk and are just as likeable as the rest of the family.

After talking with the family, I decided I needed to get a little work done, so we went down to the strip, where the climax of my book will take place. I needed to find a place where the antagonist could pull off his large scale attack, and I have now picked it out and am so excited to write it!

Sunday, we went to Brit's home ward and then talked till 7pm with her fam, when we decided to head home. Brit drove home with Chad and I and we talked all the way until the last hour when we started The Bucket List. We arrived home safe and sound around 4am. What a great weekend and the Baxter's are great. Hope they like me!

Eric Update.

So it's winter break and I'm in Provo, while Brittany went to Vegas to hang out with the Fam. Jealous! Her mom is a photographer, so I thought I'd show you guys the pics she took today. What a babe!
My shades are to protect my eyes for the long work hours. They're called Gunnars.
Guys, my book is coming better than ever. Although it's taking longer than I want, I am going to sell this thing for a million bucks! I am back on top of my life: Financially, Physically, Socially, Spiritually, Intellectually. My job has consumed me for the past 6 months and I am finally able to leave before 6 most nights, but it feels good...like I earned it. Looking forward to seeing you guys at the holidays! Keep yourselves posting.

General Conference Weekend - Make Memories

The Girls came down to visit me this weekend and brought their friend Laura. Brittany let them stay at her condo, so they got to experience real Belmont living!
I went to priesthood on Saturday night, in the conference center, with my room mates, and the rest of the weekend, we watched conference on our 54" HD TV (Thanks to my buddy and soon to be room mate Chad). The highlight of conference for me was President Monson's talk on Sunday morning. On saturday night I made 7 new mantras, one for each area of my life, and my social mantra was: "Make Memories." President Monson's talk fit perfect and so did the memorable weekend with my sisters:)
